WHAT THE HIGHLY EFFECTIVE TEACHER SHOULD KNOW AND BE ABLE TO DO

Become a more thoughtful practitioner, as you bring your intrinsic understanding of what you do to a conscious level. Explain, defend and exude confidence about what you know and are able to do as an educator. With evaluating teacher practices now under the microscope, empower yourself with knowledge to be less fearful of the process. You will engage in focused conversations with colleagues based on a framework for excellence. Whether you are a k-12 classroom teacher or specialist, such as a school nurse, counselor or media specialist, this timely course will make you better at what you do! This is a hybrid course, in which participants divide up their time between the half day morning or afternoon class day and the remaining assignment component to be completed outside class. The hybrid format will allow students to access a wider range of educational materials and gain more relevant knowledge to guide them in their profession. The following Minnesota Teaching Standards apply to this course: Standard 9. Reflection and Professional Development; is a reflective practitioner. Standard 10. Collaboration, Ethics, and Relationships; communicates and interacts with parents, and the community to support student learning and well-being. |
